Kyoto Society for Inter-Art Exchange (JARFO) is a non-profit organization (N.P.O.) born in 1995 from the Japan Art Forum's experience that started the activities since 1992 in Tokushima Prefecture. JARFO's patronage is focused mainly on people involved in cultural and art activities.
Three major activities and purposes
Support of artists
We are managing Kyoto Wang Inter-Art Museum to provide space where artists can present the results of their activity. We support activities such as planning and organizing of local and international exhibitions, sponsorships and also recommendations for partnering galleries (tie-up with 6 galleries located in Tokyo, Kyoto, Shikoku, Kobe) for individuals and organizations that conducting cultural and artistic activities.
・Management of Kyoto Wang Inter-Art Museum.・Direction of "Young Artist" organization active in Kansai area's universities.・Coordinate overseas exchange project called "ART RAINBOW PROJECT" (Germany, Korea, Italy, UK, USA, etc.)・Member of the "Art Flea Market" Executive Committee in Kyoto Prefecture.
Symbiosis of art expressions
While promoting mutual exchange relations between artists and companies, we carry out activities that contribute to the promotion and diffusion of corporate arts and culture support activities.
・JARFO Gallery Shop, operated in the Museum of Kyoto, sell and introduce artists' products.・Art events held at Higashiyama Furukawa-cho center (within the Furukawa-cho market).・Member of Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Venture Action Plan Executive Committee.・Practical internship training of art universities students in Kansai area.
Inter-art research
We continued our research activities aimed at exploring the "Kiwa" concept such as undefined borderline interactions between artists and artisans. We hold lectures aimed at studying "Kyoto" from cultural and artistic "Geisai" (inter-art) point of view. In recent years we have coined the new expression "Awai" as a unique theme in arts and aesthetics. And also hold an Art Academy where teachers meet the artists' needs through the direct experiences.
